2018 Q1 Newsletter

A New Year has dawned and I hope it found you and yours happy, healthy and ready to take on 2018! Hopefully, you were able to enjoy the holidays surrounded by friends and family and were also, able to take a moment to reflect. So often I find myself focused on the day-to-day activities, or on the problem or project that's right in front of me, that I forget to look up. New Year's is a natural time for retrospection, to look back and assess where you are and to think about where, or who, you want to be. It is a fresh start full of promising opportunities and potential.

The coming year, also, has some exciting possibilities to offer us as a chapter, an array of awesome experiences, activities and events. Our CAD Competitions are open and underway at Franklin High School and Portland Community College; the Block Kids competition is coming up at the end of the January and February will bring the Oregon Coast Retreat, as well as, the application deadline for NFSF Scholarships. The 21st Annual Women In Construction Week is also fast approaching. There are so many ways to get involved and to take advantage of the promise and possibility the year is offering us.

We are an incredible group of bold, remarkable and capable women. Together we are doing amazing things that make a difference in not just our own lives but by educating and promoting our shared values to others; camaraderie, outreach, support, self-sufficiency, and confidence, we are making an impact in our community and in the lives of others.

I hope you are just as charged as I am; ready to jump in with both feet to embrace each other and experience all that the chapter and NAWIC have to offer. I look forward to seeing you!
