Meeting Topic: Emergency Preparation
Chris has worked in law enforcement for the cities of Columbia City, Scappoose and now serves as a Trooper with the Oregon State Police. His time spent in law enforcement has given him a unique perspective on responding to and addressing a wide range of emergencies. Chris also utilizes his real life experience and the lessons he learned during his deployment with the U.S. Military to New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. Hurricane Katrina was the third deadliest hurricane in US history.
The focus of this presentation will be to have an open discussion, get you thinking about emergency preparedness and what steps you can take to better prepare you and your family should an emergency happen. Topics will include first-aid, building a “go-bag”, communications pre- and post-disaster, creating a safety plan, food storage and many others.
